Pastor Paul Jacobs |
|

Paul Jacobs hails from
Greenwood Arkansas where he not only was saved in
1977 at the First Baptist Church of Greenwood, but
also surrendered to the ministry at the age of 16.
Following graduation from Greenwood High School he entered Ouachita Baptist
University where he earned a BA in Religion in 1982.
After graduation from Ouachita he moved to Dallas where
he enrolled at The Criswell College in Dallas. In
1985, he earned a Master of Arts degree in Biblical
Studies. Working nights, he continued his studies
and eventually earned another MA from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, and a
Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of
North Texas in Denton, Texas.
After graduation from UNT, Paul served with the
International Mission Board in the Philippines to
teach at the Southern Baptist College in M’Lang,
Cotabato on the southern island of Mindanao. During this time
he also taught New Testament Greek at the Southern Philippine
Baptist Theological Seminary in Davao City, and
served as Interim Pastor of the Chinese Baptist
Church of Davao City. It was during this
period of time that Paul met the love of his life in
church one Sunday morning. A mutual friend
introduced them. Before Paul left the
Philippines, Paul and Mary Jane were engaged.
Upon returning to the USA in 1995, Paul
was called to serve as the Principal of the Chenal
Valley Christian Academy and Associate Pastor of
Hebron Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.
After three years, he was called to the Barnett
Baptist Church in Little Rock where he served as
pastor for
another three years. During this time God
greatly increased the church from 25 to over 150.
It was during this time that the Criswell College
extended an offer to join the faculty. In
March of 2001, Paul and Mary Jane moved to Texas
where he became Associate Professor of
Counseling and Biblical Studies.
A few months after making the move to Texas, First Baptist Church of Heath contacted him
about serving as interim pastor. After serving as
interim pastor for a year and a half, the church
voted to call him as pastor on a full-time basis in
March of 2003.
Paul and his lovely wife, Mary Jane have been
married since 1996 and are the
proud parents of BreAnna Gabrielle. |
